Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2, 2026
This is a plain-language draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
1. Agreement to these terms
Welcome to SiteSound. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SiteSound website monitoring service (the "Service", "SiteSound", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you're accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind that company.
2. What SiteSound does
SiteSound monitors websites you own or are authorized to monitor, and alerts you by email and, where enabled, browser push notification, when something appears to be broken — including uptime, broken links, SSL certificate validity, domain expiry, page load speed, and, where activated, whether a checkout flow or a form on your site completes successfully.
Checkout and form checks are set up by a person on our team, not automatically, and may take up to 24 hours to activate after you request them.
These checks are built to match your checkout or form as it exists when we set them up. If you make a significant change to it later (a redesign, a new checkout provider, a different form), please tell us at support@sitesound.io so we can update the check right away — otherwise we'll typically catch it ourselves the next time it needs reviewing, which may just take a little longer.
3. Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
- You're responsible for all activity under your account.
- An account is created automatically the first time you sign in. Settings lets you update account-level preferences, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.
4. Sites you monitor
You may only add a website to SiteSound if you own it or are authorized by its owner to monitor it — including submitting test data through its checkout or forms. We rely on your confirmation of this and don't independently verify site ownership.
5. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe, at the plan and price shown at signup (Starter, Growth, or Business).
- Each plan includes a limited number of monitored websites, and — for Checkout and Forms — one checkout flow and one form monitored per site. Monitoring more than one checkout flow or form on the same site isn't included in a plan and needs to be arranged with us separately.
- You can manage your payment method, view invoices, and cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal linked from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we don't provide partial-month refunds.
- We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continuing to use the Service after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to monitor a site you're not authorized to monitor, to send disruptive or excessive test traffic to a third party's site, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or to use it for anything unlawful.
7. Service availability and limitations
We aim for the Service to run continuously, but monitoring depends on infrastructure and third-party services we don't fully control — including your site's own hosting, our hosting provider, and the delivery of email and push notifications — so we can't guarantee that every issue will be detected or that every alert will reach you. The Service is provided "as is" and isn't a substitute for your own infrastructure monitoring, backups, or incident response.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, SiteSound's total liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue from an outage we failed to detect or alert you about.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or that hasn't paid for the Service, with reasonable notice where practical.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and we'll email you about material changes.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Finland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
